British born, my mother tongue is English and I am a native speaker of Portuguese with excellent writing skills and outstanding command of colloquial, technical and literary, linguistic nuance. I am also a fluent Spanish speaker with an educational background that spans three countries.  I grew up in a bicultural environment, going back and forth between England and Brazil with strong emotional ties to South America. I was 9 years old when I moved to Brazil and I still remember what it was like to enter a new world and not understand how things worked and new cultures can be so different that it seems like an entirely new universe. Especially from the point of view of a child. I grew up in a bilingual home and by the time I graduated in a university in New York, USA, I have been translating ever since.
